People who connect with their culture and history are more resilient and focused. Access to cultural activities and spiritual ceremonies can be difficult for Native Americans with mobility issues. At our AWH house we have built an accessible tipi ground that is available for gatherings and ceremonies. Our athletes have used it for themselves and their families to have a place where they can be comfortable and move about freely in a ceremonial setting. We plan to have a sweat house available soon.
